Freight Train was recorded at Headroom Philadelphia in February of 2015 as a demo for upcoming records. However, it was never put on an album and sat collecting dust until Dec 1, 2016; released as a stand alone single.
Coffee sits getting lukewarm.
I'm going out for a while and I'm not sure when I'm comin' home.
One crumpled ticket... sing-songin' "all aboard."
I'm going away for a while and when I'm coming back, I'm not sure.
I said I'm going away for a while... when I'm coming back, I'm not sure.
I'm not sure.
I wanna be your carpenter, but I don't now a thing about wood.
I wanna be your IT guy when the cable goes out and it feels like the end of the world.
And I've been calling you out on all your new shoes and the way you always look at me.
And you just smile when we fight like you don't care...
And I know that you don't care.
And it's chuggin' like a freight train hot out of the station, baby.
And I don't mind talking to you over supper, because we've both got plenty to say.
I don't mind listening when I'm not talking, I just wish I was better at it.
And I don't mind listening when it's the only thing on the radio.
And I don't mind listening to things I truly care about. My mind only works one way.
And It doesn't mind listening when you open your mouth and the words come out.
Oh I hear it chuggin' like a freight train hot out of the station, baby.
And I don't mind talking to you over supper, because we've both got plenty of things to say.
